Days Out to Celebrate St George’s Day

Some may say that St George’s Day isn’t celebrated enough, but over the next few days there is no shortage of celebratory events happening around the UK. Which one will you be visiting?

Trafalgar Square, London

The Feast of St Georges has been kindly organised by the Mayor of London and is the perfect day out for all the family. Morris Dancing, hog-roasts, a farmers market and plenty of Traditional English Cuisine.

When: 25th April

The Royal Albert Hall, London

Watch live patriotic music performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at this stunning venue. There will also be traditional English poems and readings, including the St Crispin’s Day Speech from Henry V – a fun yet educational day for all members of the family.

When: 26th April

The Hub Theatre, Southampton

Morris dancing, readings and a visit from the Mayor this is guaranteed to be a charming day out for all the family, hopefully finished with a trip to the beach (if the English weather’s on your side).

When: April 23rd – 6.45pm-9.45pm

Dover Castle, Kent

Take a step back in time and watch jesters and circus acts within the beautiful grounds of Dover Castle.

When: April 25-26, 10am-5pm

Belsay Hall, Northumberland

Celebrate St George’s Day within the grounds of 19th-century country mansion Belsay Hall. Belsay Hall will be taken over by actors dressed in medieval clothes, magical magicians and live combat displays.

When: April 25-26, 11am-5pm

St Georges Hall Gardens, Liverpool

History takes over St Georges Gardens with Punch and Judy shows, a medieval feast and a wacky fancy dress competition. A great day out where even parents can get involved – go on!
