Can I get Road Tax with a downloaded certificate?

Solution

Since the 30th April 2010, the DVLA Local Offices and UK Post Offices have been accepting insurance certificates downloaded from the Internet for road fund licence purposes.

However, Insurers cannot guarantee that the individual offices will accept the document when buying car tax and there may be instances where your application is rejected.

In the event that the certificate is not accepted for the purpose of obtaining a tax disc, there would be no refund of any monies paid.
